History
Ken and Eileen Sakai founded Pacific Dreams, Inc. (PDI) in 1992 to provide American and Japanese companies with technical translation and interpretation. Through his academic and professional experience, Ken was able to foresee the impact of international business in the Pacific Northwest, as well as on the general marketplace. Serving as President, Sakai turned his vision into reality by assembling a team of first-rate translators and interpreters who shared his enthusiasm for quality and professionalism. Pacific Dreams would only be a dream without them.
Pacific Dreams took its first steps serving the semiconductor industry and has a client list of the leading semiconductor equipment manufacturers. Sakai's semiconductor experience dates back to his eight years at Sumitomo-Mitsubishi Silicon Corporation (formerly Mitsubishi Silicon America), where he became experienced in production, engineering, purchasing, project and construction management, and process quality auditing.
Although originally specializing in the high-tech field, the company has since grown to include experts in various fields of trade. Our services have expanded from translation and interpretation to include software localization and website creation, website localization, and marketing.
This year, as we celebrate more than 14 years in the business, we have moved our office from Salem, Oregon to a new location closer to Portland in Wilsonville. In our new, larger office we look forward to further growth as the company continues to provide the highest quality service to our clients.
